Went out to Martin today. First outing of the year. Previous best was a 10.11 at the Milan UMTR event last fall. First pass was a 9.93 at 133. Pretty cool. Car ran a couple more 10.0's then on the last past I left at 6200, was at 5600 for the first three, and ran a 9.96. Finally had a decent 60 at 1.38 but still should be 1.35/6 area. Clutch needs a little more base put back into it and my shifting sucks but some more passes and will get the left foot and hand back in time again. Hopefully some guys at the Nats will let me put the camera in some of their cars, would make a neat video. Sorry for the video quality, first time with the gopro. http://youtu.be/imAv4xFWnY4Andre

Thanks Frito and Keith, good to catch up again.
My crewchiefs (nieces) were there helping with clutch and shock changes....or maybe just eating popcorn and running around the trailer.lol

Thanks.
The shifter is a Long Vertical Gate kind of like the Hurst/Mr Gasket Ramrod setups.
I'm sure when the weather starts getting warm it'll fall back in the low 10's, avoid the comp license and all that other stuff.

What trans do you have in it? Just curious as it seems to have a lot of gear noise like straight cut gears would have. What are the trans gear ratios? thanks for sharing the video, it really motivates me to get mine back to the track.

Cool. I've been wanting to put a camera in mine, but don't know how to attach it. Also, I don't have a camera. (minor detail!)
You cheered me up, thanks

Ill stick the camera in both of yours at the Nats then!
Combo is a 440, trw 2295 pistons, six pack rods and a steel crank. Heads are Indy EZ-MW port and tti headers. Clutch is a ram sintered iron and trans is a G Force GF4A. 3.09 first and 1.1 final with 4.88 gear, 5.13 in a couple weeks. Car weighs about 3250. Nothing special and does well for what it is.

When I get a haircut and they want to show me w/a mirror, the back of my head, I tell them 'don't do that' A camera would just document for all time just how lousy a driver I really am. I like living in the world of self delusion

I know what your talkin about Greg. The trick for me is camera positioning so you can't see me eat my elbow.

Runs good for a 440 with those heavy old pistons, what cam is in it and what mods have you done to pick up .15 and is it your first venture into the 9's ? Mick

The only off season change was front discs instead of drums. Man does it stop better. The air was really good. High 40's and sunny with a tailwind all day. When the DA goes from -400 to +1600 ill be slow again.lol
The cam is a Comp mech I spec'd with them. Lift is right around .600. I haven't looked at the cam card in 5 years or so.ha
